Lionel Messi, in full Lionel Andrés Messi, likewise called Leo Messi (born June 24, 1987, Rosario, Argentina), Argentine-conceived football (soccer) player who was named Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) globe player of the year in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
